A Self-Care Buffet

Date:  Sunday, June 15th following Sunday service

Time:  Approximately 1 hour

Where:  The Sanctuary OR the basement?

Description:  I will highlight and teach five different practices that people can do to be more mindful, decrease stress and tension and create space within their body and minds. The variety can appeal to different people because we’re not one-size-fits-all, right? Bonus – they can each be done in a very short amount of time, like a couple of minutes!

What Are The Practices?:

1.        The 4-7-8 Relaxing Breath

2.        Legs Up The Wall

3.        Positive Affirmations

4.        Guided Meditation

5.        Insight Timer App

Who:  Anyone who is interested in learning short effective practices they can do on their own to practice self-care, become more mindful and present in life, and to lower stress and tension in “these times”.  Please feel free to invite a friend or neighbor to attend.

Experience:  No experience required.  All levels welcome.

Leader:  Kim Valentour, former WellWorks Director and Certified Meditation Teacher

Once again, Athens County Children Services is launching its annual Peanut Butter and Jelly summer nutrition program, providing Athens County children whose families might run low on food resources while the children are not in school and don't have access to school breakfasts and lunches. Each week during the summer, their School Outreach staff distribute peanut butter, jelly, and bread in each of the county school districts. We can help by bringing peanut butter, jelly and bread to put in the box provided in the Narthex. Those who want to donate money instead can write a check to Athens County Children Services with "PB&J Project" in the menu line and send it to PO Box 1036, Athens OH  45701.
