Dear all,

Important community support information:

  • Last Call on Ordering Keith Wasserman's book - Hopefully you heard the announcement about Keith Wasserman and Christine Pohl's book Good Works: Hospitality and Faithful Discipleship being released in the last week or so.  The church will be doing a bulk order to support a local bookseller AND the authors.  Cost is $13.59 per copy--much lower than anywhere else.  The office will be taking orders through TODAY Monday, Aug. 2nd.  To order, please sign up on the form found by clicking here, or call the office.  To pay, please give us a few days for Wanda to include a link on our Tithe.ly site.  Alternatively, you can drop a check in the mail or put one in the offering plate made out to Christ Lutheran Church with "Keith's Book" in the memo.
  • New Recycling Opportunity at CLC The Property Committee has agreed to add another recycling program to CLC:  John Deno brought forward “The Plastic Film Recycling Challenge" coordinated by NexTrex.  Participants collect plastic film with the goal of recycling 500 pounds in a 6 month period.  If the goal is met, the group is awarded a Trex bench.  Nex Trex makes composite lumber for decks, siding etc.  The Athens Kiwanis is partnering with different groups in Athens to help them with the collection.  John has been collecting the film for the Kiwanis, so he will head up our collection.  He has registered CLC with the Recycling Challenge.  Look for the collection container by the white table outside during the Sunday Services and under the coat rack in the narthex.  More information will be coming at a later time. Please see the image found under "Downloads" for the types of plastic film we can accept.
