A note on the office transition:

  • Unfortunately, Lucy Crawford let us know that she will no longer be accepting the position of Director of Lifelong Formation and Administration.  While it had been her intent to accept the position pending approval of the congregational budget, the situation changed right around the same time as that approval came.  She had previously understood that her conference would support her placement at CLC and allow her to continue in the deacon candidacy process for the United Methodist Church; however, the reality of that situation became much more complicated.  In the end, she did not want to continue to keep us and her family in limbo as she tried to navigate through the system, so she declined our offer.  Please pray for her as she is currently umployed, having already quit her former position and even having secured housing here in Athens.  I can only imagine the upheaval for her family.  Our personnel committee is currently focusing its efforts on filling needs in the short term and then will regroup with another larger search as pervious candidates are not a good fit or no longer available.
  • We respectfully ask that you still hold all questions and office visits until after the week of July 18-22 so that Katie Beth can focus on office transition. KB will still have some limited contact after that week, so anything that arises during that time that folks are unsure of will still be able to be addressed by KB if needed.   If KB needs assistance in a specific area, she will definitely reach out for help.  Thanks so much!
