You are invited to Prisca’s Event!

Hylie Voss, spoke to the Wit and Wisdom group last year about the Sugar Bush Foundation.  Her mother Mary Anne Flournoy was a member of the Christ Lutheran for roughly 45 years.  Pastor Lynn’s last official Pastoral event was her memorial service in Dec 2019.

Every year since 2000, Hylie’s mother, Mary Ann Flournoy hosted an event for her dear friend, former OHIO professor Dr. Prisca Nemapare, to share about the Zienzele Foundation which she founded in Zimbabwe.   The Zienzele Foundation is a network of basket weaving cooperatives and other community development activities in remote villages in Zimbabwe.  The women who weave the baskets are caregivers of over 1000 orphans, and the sale of the baskets enables them to pay the children’s school fees so they can stay in school. https://www.zienzelefoundation.org/

Mary Ann had hosted this event in either her home or in Fellowship Hall.   This year, her daughter, Hylie Voss, will host Prisca’s event on Tuesday June 6, at 7 pm, in her home at 6525 Baker Rd, Athens, OH.  Beautiful handwoven baskets will be for sale.
